Kimpton Journeyman Hotel Selected for Real Estate Award

The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel, a FirstPathway Partner’s project, has been selected as Milwaukee’s “Best New Development in Hospitality.” The award was presented Thursday April 13, 2017 by the Milwaukee Business Journal, during an afternoon luncheon at the Pfister Hotel. The Business Journal’s Real Estate Awards are given out annually and recognize the best real estate deals and projects completed in the previous year. This year the city’s upbeat economy gave way to an array of new projects, causing the number of nominations to reach an all time high of 60. We were thrilled to be selected among such a wide field of exemplary candidates.  Opening in June 2016, the luxury boutique hotel set the bar high and drew immediate interest from the public. Despite its newness, guests often note how well the hotel seamlessly blends in with the neighborhood. This was no mistake, and is exactly what the developers were aiming to do. Patrick Gaskin, the Journeyman’s general manager was quoted in the Milwaukee Business Journal saying “People always ask: what was it before? And you tell them: most recently, it was a parking lot."  The 158 room hotel, features 4,000 square feet of spacious banquet space, a café, and a Zagat rated restaurant. At the top of the 9 floor hotel is the Outsider, a trendy rooftop bar and lounge with sweeping views of the city. The Outsider’s popularity has “set off a trend” in the Milwaukee market and has inspired several other venues to add rooftop bars and patios throughout the city. The hotel is also just a short distance from some of the city's most iconic places including the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Milwaukee Public Market, Lake Michigan, and the Henry Maier Festival Park - Host to the world’s largest music festival.  At the Kimpton, each guest is welcomed with warm comfort and personalized service. The hotel is a place where guests can begin and end exploration of dynamic urban areas across the country and the world. Since building its first luxury boutique hotel in 1981, the Kimpton has successfully opened 63 hotels in 33 cities and employs over 8,000 people. Furthermore, it was recently voted one of Fortune’s “100 Best Places to Work” and in 2016 was one of the top “50 Best Places for Diversity.” FirstPathway Partners is proud to be a part of projects that deliver world class service, create a strong sense of community, and provide valued job opportunities. Without question we know it will continue to receive praise and look forward to sharing its successes.
