Wednesday, April 22, 2020 – Today, President Donald Trump officially issued a Proclamation suspending immigration into the United States for 60 days. Included in the exemptions, however, is the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, allowing this program to continue its aid to the American economy. This order only apples to immigrant visas and does not limit nonimmigrant visas, such as E-2 Treaty Investor visa, though at present foreign nationals who are outside the U.S. are currently impacted by travel restrictions, consulate closures, and suspension of in-person services, including visa interviews.
With over 1,250,000 American jobs created, the facilitation of $10.98 billion of capital investment projects, and the support of over 355,000 U.S. jobs, the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program has proven vital to the health and progression of the United States economy. With continued authorization and exemption it is eager for the opportunity to continue to do so.
