The National Law Review published an article which illustrates why it's so important that the EB-5 Regional Center Program is re-authorized. It outlines the billions of dollars that have been contributed to the U.S.' economy, creating thousands of jobs, allowing foreigners to become United States citizens.
The article goes on to say that the EB-5 program "generated $5.2 billion in private investment between 2005 and 2013, with $1.6 billion invested in 2013 alone. It is only since 2008, during the height of the financial crisis, that the program began approaching its full potential as a driver of economic growth."
The National Law Review's research shows an upward trajectory of the program that will likely continue as the program has become a "credible and mainstream source of capital for developers and other entrepreneurs".
Lawmakers have been gifted an incredible opportunity to impact the lives of thousands (of foreign investors), reduce unemployment, and make healthy economies possible (with the creation of jobs) with the re-authorization of the program.
