Northeastern Wisconsin’s regional economic development organization recently expanded its on-line supply chain tool statewide and now features an entire page dedicated to working with Foxconn Technology Group. The Supply Chain Marketplace was developed in 2015 and allows companies to create a free profile detailing their certifications and qualifications. The on-line tool also makes it easier to find potential suppliers, and helps businesses connect with one another. Currently, there are close to 30 industry categories and over 430 interested companies have created profiles. It was recently described by Governor Scott Walker as a place for Wisconsin companies to get on the technology giant’s radar.According to the Wisconsin Economic Development Center (WEDC) Foxconn has estimated it will make $5 billion in purchases from Wisconsin companies during the construction of its facility. Once the plant becomes operational, it is estimated that it will add another $1.4 billion in annual supplier purchases.Major companies and manufacturers like Foxconn continue to expand upon the growing number of economic opportunities in the state of Wisconsin.
