SCS Global Services, a leading international third-party certifier of environmental claim, recently announced that the Global Water Center (GWC), a FirstPathway Partners EB-5 project, met the requirements of the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) International Water Stewardship Standard. It's the first-ever comprehensive global standard for measuring responsible water stewardship across social, environmental and economic criteria. The GWC, which has been recognized as a global hub for water technology and research, is the first commercial office building in the world to earn this distinction. Among the GWC's water stewardship accomplishments are improvements to onsite stormwater infrastructure, improved salt application during snow events and use of environmentally friendly parking lot pavement.
The GWC further establishes Wisconsin and Milwaukee as a world-leading water hub. "We're very proud of this achievement," stated Water Council VP of Marketing & Communications, Meghan Jensen. "We look forward to serving as a focal point for continued corporate water stewardship in the region around the world."
