Bankrate.com, a financial print publisher for the banking industry, released a report citing the top U.S. cities for launching a career. The study evaluated a number of factors, including job prospects, pay potential, quality of life, social opportunities, and career advancement.
Other variables include:
• Land rents
• Local productivity
• Total value of amenities
• Housing affordability
• Weather
• Average slope of land
• Coastal proximity
• Crime rate
• Air quality
• Price of capital
• Wages
• Tax rate
“Although young grads will be faced with major competition for available jobs in these top cities, the opportunities for career growth and quality of life among peers far exceed what is offered in less competitive job markets,” said Bankrate.com banking analyst, Claes Bell, CFA.
All other data come from the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
